Salam for all,
There are many reforms that the BN can introduce to regain back their popularity and public confidence. Being political veterans theyknow exactly what are the changes or reforms that are needed. The question is whether they are really sincere in making the changes to move foward or do they prefer to remain in their present mould to carry out their political struggle.
The main stream media is suggesting that the BN is in the process of instituting many reforms, but such reforms, whether within the BN structure or within the goverment are yet to be seen. It is now becoming clearer that as the leopard cannot change its spots, UMNO too is still interested in proceeding with its political platform based on the Malay agenda.
Since General Election 2008, instead of preparing for a two party system rule, UMNO / BN have been more concerned about how the Malay rights and supremacy are being eroded due to the changes in political goverment instituted by the Pakatan Rakyat coalition ruled states. The main stream media also seems to be highlighting even the minor hiccups in the Pakatan ruled states without publishing some of the good programs and policies introduced by them *.
Even the other BN component parties have chosen to continue their political journey in their present structure without making ang major changes. Therefore, it looks as though the BN and the component parties have decided to go for another round of contest with the opposition at the next general elections without any fundamental changes in their structure and policies.
